Our History

The Library Foundation of Needham (LFN) was founded by the Trustees of the Needham Free Public Library. Its purpose is to be a permanent fundraising arm and managed endowment for the library which can provide funds for library materials and services not in the town-funded budget. A library trustee sits on the LFN board of directors to liason between the trustees and the LFN.

 

Our Misson

• Encourage community investment through individual and corporate giving for Library programs and services not covered by the town-funded budget.

• Coordinate fundraising and promotional activities to increase the endowment and responsibly manage and grow the funds.

​

• Grant funds to library departments based on their proposals for programs, materials, and facility enhancements.
